NEVEN ALLANIC, FARAH ATASSI, NATHALIE ELEMENTO, MARIE JEANNE HOFFNER, KAMA SOKOLNICKA

The exhibition insides/insights reffers to the experience of space, the memory of place and the emotional impact which transforms our everyday environment into a complex mental universe. Each of the featured artists questions the constant back-and-forth between the material characteristics of an architectural place and its psychological resonance.>>>

ANNE+ LABORATORY : GUILLAUME AUBRY avant moi le déluge [didn’t it rain?] 7 April - 15 April 2009

The myth of the flood, which has universal currency, reflects the perpetual cycle of death and rebirth. This project by Guillaume Aubry orchestrates a surprising perturbation of the space in order to replay this cataclysm and reveal the unsuspected precariousness of physical, institutional and psychological structures. Whether unexpected or deliberately provoked, tragic or salutary, the unleashing of the elements is always extreme, and reactivates the collective trauma of the schism between pleasure and danger. The spectator arriving on the scene of the disaster then asks, “Before me, the flood?” >>>

ANNE+ PROJECT : MATHIEU BRIAND In Memorial of Albert Hofmann 1906 - 2008 29 January - 28 March 2009

This exhibition in homage to Albert Hofmann, who died earlier in 2008, takes visitors on a hallucinatory journey that challenges all the senses. Claiming artistic activity as the supreme cosa mentale, Mathieu Briand develops a number of possible parallels between the famous inventor of LSD and artists such as Marcel Duchamp and Leonardo da Vinci. To experience the full potential of this metamorphosing reality, we need to follow the artist’s advice: “only the door is important, not the two spaces that it separates.” >>>

FOREVER YOUNG is an exhibition that looks at ways in which today’s artists are renewing the heritage of the 20th century. It offers a contextual reading of contemporary works made by emerging French and international figures. FOREVER YOUNG is meant as a paraphrase of the Nietzschean concept of the Eternal Return, that cycle wherein what returns is not everything but a true selection.>>>

ANNE+ LABORATORY : DU BOUT DES LEVRES Tal Hadad 23 September - 4 October 2008

The installation by Tal Hadad presents a series of five video-clips coming from different countries of Asia. The artist used the labial reading in order to reinterpret the original words and to invent the subtitles. This technique allows shifting the meaning between the initial language and the imagined reading, which makes virtually disappear the differences between the languages.>>>

INIGO CABO, MATTHIEU CLAINCHARD, TAL HADAD, FRANCK LEIBOVICI, BETTINA SAMSON, VITTORIO SANTORO, ERIC STEPHANY

A LISTENING ROOM is based on a principle of reflexivity: as much as a space to listen, it is a space that listens. Inspired by a desire of experiencing the links between sound and sculpture through various installations, the exhibition will present different devices using sound as a raw material or an object of critical meditation. ...>>>

ANNE+ PROJECT: DIRECT FROM THE PIPE Andrei Molodkin 21 October 2007 - 8 March 2008

Andrei Molodkin uses human blood and Iraqi oil to fill his “negative-space” acrylic block sculptures. Thanks to the system of pumps and hoses he proceeds a transfusion of those liquids into the sculptures. The functioning of the pump refers to the medical device assuring an extra corporeal circulation of the blood and to oil derricks. The hoses transport oil and blood like pipelines or pipes used for intravenous drip. Andrei Molodkin confronts the spectator with the geopolitical issues and the secret desires of the contemporary world.
